Which is unfortunate, because I LOVE \u201c\u2026\u201d in text.<\/p>\n<p>I could be wrong, but as far as I know using \u201c\u2026\u201d as dialog was first introduced in JRPG imports such as the Final Fantasy series. It\u2019s perfect, because anyone who reads a lot knows exactly the emotion that it conveys. The only problem is that it isn\u2019t a word, it\u2019s punctuation. \u00a0And as a narrator, you aren\u2019t allowed to read punctuation. It sounds stupid. No one says \u201cexclamation point!\u201d, and no one should say \u201cellipses\u201d or (if ya ain\u2019t as high-falutin\u2019) \u201cdot dot dot\u201d. In Chapter 20 I just left a long pause. But that wasn\u2019t an option here, as it was both explicit dialog, <em>and quoted in the response<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>So I made do with a narrative description that I hope best captured what \u201c\u2026\u201d was implying in this particular case.
