  1. The fanfiction that starts out the same as Brian’s idea is called “Following the Phoenix.”

The fic continues to develop in interesting and creative ways that diverge from HPMOR “cannon” all the way to a different conclusion of the story. I would highly reccomend it!

  2. I think that the only clear conclusion that a person can draw from taboo tradeoffs like the kidney hypothetical is that money is a fundamentally immoral way to distribute resources.

People are being forced to make horrifying choices about who suffers from lack of resources in a society where we have an abundance of almost everything. It’s a god damn nightmare.

  3. Good episode, we avoided the golden hammer nealy the whole time. :)

I started hearing the audiobook together with my sister now while hiking and I can relate better now to you Steve about the struggle not to spoil anything. She loves HP and reads more fanfic than I do so I was relieved that she likes Draco. It was sad to keep a steady face after she asked for Ron but I am looking forward for the comming chapters. Shes not so interested in the method of science so let’s see where this goes.

I hope you liked the winner of the art contest in the future episodes. Doof!Media has almost everything HPMOR related removed from the website so I could not find it yet.

  4. Brian chews out Harry for being arrogant and doing stuff without considering the consequences, but then he thinks Harry should overthrow the decision of Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw not to tell anyone about the Dementor secret? The ONE time Harry thinks about the consequences and considers the advice of older and wiser people?

Also, lots of ravenclaws prolly figured out that Dementors are Death, because it’s, as Harry puts it, an obvious riddle. And NONE of them could cast the 2.0, because that is something that would have given you a ton of Pussy and they never told anyone.

Most people who figured it out, and Dumbledore, if Harry had told him, probably just obliviated themselves.

Brian, in this YOU are the dick.

  5. I genuinely love the amount of “dicks” and “fucks” in this podcast. Like yeah, you are intellegent and clearly are able to formulate thoughts without it, but you choose not to.
