Yes, what Eneasz said was exactly what I thought of the book: cliche after cliche, stated baldly, without earning the right to say it. When I read its glowing Amazon reviews, written by members of my own species, I experience such terrible cognitive dissonance that I feel I must be an alien anthropologist just visiting this planet.
